Aerosol vs Non-Aerosol Inhalers

NHS England has introduced a new target for practices to switch patients from metered dose inhalers (MDIs) to more environmentally friendly alternatives.

The updated voluntary Investment and Impact Fund (IIF) introduces a target for practices to reduce the proportion of pressurised MDIs they prescribe as a percentage of all non-salbutamol inhaler prescriptions issued on or after 1 October to 25% or less of MDIs prescribed by 2023/24.
