As of 1st August, the list price of Staladex (Leuprorelin Acetate 11.25mg) has lowered the list price to £75 per dose (from £206). Aspire Pharma have changed the dispensing scheme due to this list price change. Staladex will now have available a 12% dispensing discount. This change brings list price savings whilst supporting dispensing practices through not making a financial loss on the product.
Please be aware that Staladex has a different injection technique to that of the other implant LNRH. Clinicians should be clear on this before using the product. Aspire Pharma have training support available. Should you wish to contact Aspire Pharma, please email training@aspirepharma.com.
I am clarifying with Aspire that the 50% discount that practices have signed up via their wholesaler will be honoured for the month of August (against the lower £75 price) and should get a reply early next week. After that the discount will be 12% off invoice. I expect ICBs will be advising practices to change to Staladex as the price has dropped from £206 to £75. I have managed to get Aspire to honour the Dispex Enhanced discount until the end of August that quite a number of practices had signed up to. I will be emailing those individual practices that signed up to the ePACT enhanced rebate scheme for Staladex.
For all other GnRH analogues, it makes no difference as to whether they are prescribed generically or by brand.
