Practice Retention and Recruitment

By Dispex

There are numerous reasons why we’re witnessing an increasing number of practices
struggling to retain and replace various job roles. Primary care is under immense pressure
following another challenging winter, combined with ongoing emotional and physical health
challenges experienced by staff, some of which can be attributed, at least in part, to the lasting
impact of the pandemic and the pressure it continues to exert on practices. Moreover, with
the cost of living crisis practice, dispensary and admin staff are being enticed away from the
Primary Care to roles in other industries that offer higher pay and maybe less stress.

We are hearing of many stories now hitting the headlines, with some practice forced to close
or reduce opening hours as they have been unable to fill their vacancies for GPs, Dispensers
and Receptionists. The NHS Employers site offers an online guide to
Improving staff retention
they also offer a Beating burnout in the NHS guide.

In order to address the staffing crisis, primary care needs financial incentives to attract and
retain staff, improvement to working conditions, and investment in training and development
for staff. By addressing these issues, the government would help ensure each practice has
enough supported and valued healthcare professionals ready to provide high-quality care to
their patients. As additional funding maybe many years off or wishful thinking at best, we have
taken our own proactive measures to assist our readers by introducing a new service called
Practice Vacancies!

For a small fee of £125+vat, we will provide practices with two banner spaces advertising the
vacant role. One banner advert will be included in our monthly Gazette
email header and one
will be included in the same mid-month update newsletter.

Our Gazette reaches many within the Primary Care community, therefore it should reach more
qualified
people than a local newspaper would. Dispex is only acting as a marketing agent and
will
NOT be involved in any part of the recruitment process. If a potential applicant should
contact Dispex, we would only direct them to
your online job application webpage or to your
email.

As you can see, the click through can be linked to your email address or your online job description and
application form. For further details please email
