Mounjaro: Unravelling the complexities of the Eli Lilly Commercial Deal.

By Dr Philip Koopowitz – Director Dispex

Many of you will have noticed that the NHS Reimbursement for the price of Mounjaro was
dramatically raised at the beginning of September. The Commercial deal from Eli Lilly, via
AAH and PSUK only, allowed a huge discount on Mounjaro, BUT only for private prescriptions.
If you had signed up to the Commercial Deal, without knowing the full implications, then Eli Lilly,
via AAH or PSUK would invoice you for ALL (both NHS and Private) of your Mounjaro purchases
at the Discounted price. Eli Lilly would then look
at your ePACT dispensing data and claw back the
discount for all NHS scripts dispensed.

Eli Lilly have now clarified that if you have not signed the Commercial Deal or have rescinded the
Commercial Deal, then you will be invoiced for all Mounjaro at the NHS price, not the discounted
price. Eli Lilly will not then be checking ePACT for those dispensaries NOT signed up to the Commercial
Deal. Most dispensing practices should not be issuing private prescriptions for their own NHS patients,
so should not be signed up. If you think you may have signed up, then you should actively opt out of the
commercial agreement, following the instructions below:

For AAH: Once you have signed the commercial agreement this will show up on the ‘signed-up propositions’
section of
the AAH propositions page. Please select ‘cancel proposition’ to opt out of the agreement.

For Phoenix: Please resubmit the digital form and select

‘No, I do not wish to opt in’ forms.office.com/e/LvGxbytygL

In order to reconcile any credits received prior to opting out, use the following process:

Send an email to productsupply@lilly.com with the following declaration:

‘I can confirm that we only dispense NHS prescriptions and we would like all credit provided to us since September
1st to be debited back in full’. Lilly will then debit the total credit received in this period.

If you are unsure whether you have cancelled your sign up, then it may be prudent to just sen the email to productsupply@lilly.com
together with your AAH/PSUK account number and Surgery address.
