Our consultant will typically spend about 2 hours in the dispensary, observing and asking questions.
He will look at processes and potential efficiencies. Our consultant will then need to spend some time
looking at purchasing and PPD Drug statements as well as practice and dispensary formularies.
Our consultant will make notes and then meet with the Dispensary Lead, Practice Manager and Lead
GP and any other GPs and managers who are available. He will discuss their preliminary findings and
make suggestions for immediate gains. Our consultant will be available to help dispensers use the DM+D
and any other information they would like help with.
During the visit we can cover, amongst other dispensing topics, ordering & maintaining stock, CD
management, endorsing & reimbursement, concessions, PAs & VAT, DSQS and end of month drug
statement analysis.
We will send Information sheets to the practice before the visit, which need to be completed as far
as possible, and at least by 2 weeks before the visit. The visit normally takes about 6 hours, starting
as close to 9am as possible. Following the visit our consultant will send a written report of our findings
together with some information about how to continue assessing dispensing profitability.
Please note, geographical restrictions apply. Consultant visit descriptions may vary or change
from the above depending on who can reach your practice.
