Another big reduction in Category M prices will be an unwelcome start to the new year. In addition, the
DHSC will be reducing Category A prices to claw back some of the massive pharmacy contract over
delivery. Unfortunately Dispensing Doctors continue to be caught up in this punitive adjustment. The
DHSC has not published a list of new Category A prices, but half of the clawback by DHSC will be
achieved by reducing Category A prices.
Out of the total of 615 Category M products, 490 have had their price reduced, of which 111 have had their
price reduced by 50 pence per pack or more. 91 products are up in price with only 27 of those increasing by
50 pence per pack or more.
Beware: Ticagrelor 60mg and 90mg are both now in Category M and their prices have reduced dramatically.
